I scanned the gymnasium nervously. I was wearing regular black shorts and my ICONic Boyz t-shirt with black converse sneakers. I finally exhaled when he came out of the boy’s locker room wearing a red t-shirt with the words ‘SLHS Wrestling Team’ in black letters. “Line up for attendance!” Mrs. Blaine shouted, making me jump. I hopped in line, and then waited for instructions on what they would be doing for the period. “Jerika, how many times have I told you that you can’t wear those shoes to class? This is your last warning.” Despite the fact that I really didn’t care, I felt my cheeks get hot. “Today we are going to start our Soccer unit,” Mrs. Blaine started explaining every single rule there was to know. “Matt’s looking at you,” Nevaeh whispered quietly beside me. I looked up and saw that the blue eyed, dirty-blonde haired boy was indeed looking at me. I smiled at him, and then directed my attention back to the teacher. Eventually, we got split up into two different sections; competitive and non-competitive. Nevaeh and I both did competitive. From there we got split up into two teams with the male gym teacher, Mr. Bryan- a young, athletic guy in his twenties who all the girls …
