Do people in your area wear Crocs as regular shoes?

I am a nurse and have been wearing clogs for 9 years now. I can’t help but laugh when I see people wearing Crocs with regular clothes other than scrubs. Is this a crazy fad only here in the South or is it all over the nation?
OMG it is world wide! It’s worse than I had originally thought!! LOL I love them because it’s easy to clean blood and poo off of them at work. Plus they can be sterilized. hahaa

What comfy shoes do you reccomend?

I just started working at a store that requires me to stand up 9-12hrs a day 5 days a week w/o being able to sit down and lately my feet have been hurting so bad, to a point that i cannot walk. I was going to buy some crocs b/c i heard they are the most comfortable for standing for long hours ( nurses wear them ). Is this a good brand of shoe for comfort & for my situation? Any other suggestions on shoes & etc would be helpful.

any other women out there refuse to wear women's shoes?

ok, as far as i can tell, ALL women’s shoes are uncomfortable (with the possible exception of nurse shoes and crocs since i’ve never tried them). i’ve tried many different size heels and flats, and all of them hurt after a while. they just have no support or cushioning (even the ones that say they’re comfortable and cushioned.)

when i get dressed up, and go out to the club, even if i’m wearing a dress, i wear my big stompy unisex goth boots. i’ve decided that from now on, i will only be able to wear pants to work as my boy’s dress shoes will probably look silly with a skirt.

are there any other women out there who just refuse to suffer for the sake of looking "sexy"?
and yes, i realize that no matter what shoes i wear, my feet will eventually begin to hurt if i’m on them long enough. it’s just that i can go a full day wearing combat boots and have my feet only slightly uncomfortable by the end of the day, where my feet will really start to hurt a lot after only a few hours in flats (and after about 10 minutes in heels)
and as much as i like the way they look, converse (aka chuckies, aka chuck taylors) hurt my feet too if i’m walking in them a lot. they have very thin soles. vans are usually more comfortable for me.

I’ll be working with a nurse tomorrow, and she asked me to wear scrubs. It so hot outside, and Im definitely not thinking about sneakers, or crocs..lol. Mine are plain white flats though..they don’t look too flashy at all. Would they be okay for me to wear?

What brand of nursing shoes give the best support?

I’ve tried nursemates, crocs, and rockports… and havent had much luck with them. nursemates was ehhh but they didnt last to long.

Do you guys like cute girls that wear big, baggy nurse scrubs?

What if their big, white, cotton Granny panties are hanging out a bit at the top because the elastic is shot? But the girl is really old, but still hawt and has really, really cool bifocals that hang on a chain around her neck? And orthopedic nurse shoes or Crocs?

Does anyone know if any nursing schools have a problem with students wearing white closed crocs to clinicals?

I want to order white crocs from payless, but am not sure if its acceptible as nursing shoes. Did anyone here ever buy crocs and were told by a clinical instructor that they have to get new shoes?

What are the best shoes for nurses to wear?

I am currently a nursing student, and have just graduated up from 8 hour clinicals to 12 hour clinicals (during which I am on my feet 90% of the time). I have tried LOADS of different kinds of shoes and nothing seems to work. I used to have a pair of Danskos that I LOVED when I worked as a pharm tech, but I am afraid that I won’t be able to run in them if an emergency arises.

Per school policy I am not allowed to wear anything with holes in it (such as crocs) and I am not allowed to wear slip on shoes or clogs. Also, the color has to be all white.

I was just wondering if anyone knew of a nice supportive shoe with a high arch that I could get…. I don’t think my feet (and back) can handle this much longer :(

Shoes that can be worn for Nursing?

I am going to be starting my clinicals soon, and I want something that looks nice and is acceptable for the hospital as well. They don’t have to be nursing shoes- but they have to be all white and cannot be any type of clogs. And absolutely no Crocs. Basically, I want something that looks nice and can pass for nursing shoes as well. Comfort isn’t that big of an issue, as I won’t be at the hospital for long periods of time. What do the younger girls who work at hospitals wear for shoes (I’m 20) ? Most of the ‘nursing shoes’ I’ve seen seem to be for older women, and stuff that I wouldn’t wear. Anyone have any ideas what some nice shoes would be? Thanks so much :)
